2018 Hammer Dulcimer Rendezvous • May 3-6, 2018

The 2018 Hammer Dulcimer Rendezvous is sold out, with a waiting list for the event taking place. We’ll let folks on the waiting list know, of course, if space opens up.
(The blue words allow you to click on ’em and get taken directly to whatever page we have linked ’em to.)
This year we are happy to welcome Stephen Humphries for the first time as one of our guest instructors.
Steve Schneider said he had too much fun last year, and has agreed to come back. (We suspect that the clincher was the fact that he got to play the drywall bucket at the Saturday Night Dance!) Marina Albero has agreed to join us.
Hossein Salehi has agreed to come again and share his expertise with us.
Simon Crisman is joining us as an instructor this year, as well.

Of course, we’ll have a number of our Pacific Northwest “Local Heroes” with us, including Rick Fogel, Carl Thor, Carolyn Cruso and Lawrence Huntley.

The HD Rendezvous is a festival for students and aficionados of the Hammer Dulcimer.

Check in on this page for notices, or better yet, get on our email update list.

The 2018 ‘Vous will take place at Hull Park in Sandy, Oregon, with on-site check-in starting at noon on Thursday, May 3.
The Rendezvous will wrap up at noon on Sunday, May 6.
The event features workshops for hammer dulcimer players at all skill levels from beginning to advanced, as well as instructor concerts, panel discussions, jam sessions, an open mic concert, a chance to buy recorded music, instructional books and musical items from our instructors’ tables of wares, and a raffle of items donated by participants. (The Saturday Night Dance was a highlight of the ‘Vous the last two years!)
Hull Park features dorm rooms (2 twin beds per room), several discreet sound spaces for workshops and jams, a professional kitchen (and staff!) as well as a newly constructed shower facility. On-site RV parking (no hook-ups) and camping (lots of good lawns, and on a clear day, a view of Mount Hood), as well as nearby hotels are further lodging options for registrants.

Pete Ballerstedt is our noble founder, and maintainer of our Facebook page where you can see photos and hear some folks playing at previous Rendezvous.
