Shan Burchell left us two hand made mountain dulcimers. This one is a simple 3 stringed classic, but with the modern extra frets for the 3rd and 7th notes. A sweet cloth case with two pockets (one of which contains a mountain dulcimer capo, which is particularly useful with the extra frets) and a strap, as well as a strap on the dulcimer itself. As you can see, signed by the maker, “Handmade by Carol Vorce, 1995.”
In the heart above the teardrop…or is it a raindrop?Pretty case!Look at these extra frets! From Mishele Mennett, who sewed this HD cover: Keep your hammer dulcimer covered and insulated with this festive cover. Red cotton twill is reversible with a multi-colored cotton quilt. Light green ric-rac outlines the red side. The trapezoid-shaped cover is 51″ wide at the front border and 35″ tall, the top border is 29″ wide. OR use it for credit on one of her other covers — read about ’em here. Steve and Allison Scarborough have again donated the use of their lovely house in Yachats for a lucky winner.
August 15-18 are the dates reserved for the winner at the Lady Kennaway in scenic Yachats, OR! Summer dates are hard to come by at this lovey beach home. If those dates are not convenient for the winner, they can look at the websites and trade any available 3 nights at The Lady Kennaway in Yachats or Whimsical Dunes in Waldport. You can discuss with Steve, you lucky winner! Just in case you haven’t figured it out, the underlined bits are links. Click ’em!Jim Wells is bringing a “a nice 3/4 violin, made in Germany.
